Bisate
RwandaNestled in its very own eroded volcanic cone, and conveniently neighbouring Rwanda’s celebrated Volcanoes National Park, you will find one of Rwanda’s most luxurious lodges—Bisate Lodge. The lodge itself is a sight to behold—striking in its unique design, and set against the backdrop of Rwanda’s verdant forested landscape, Bisate Lodge allows guests to marvel at the wonder that is Rwanda.
Be one of the first to experience Rwanda at its finest
It is with great excitement that we announce that Bisate Lodge is set to open its doors and welcome guests in June 2017! This lodge is special because it combines the three most important things that adventurous guests need—prime location, luxury accommodation, and spectacular surroundings. The lodge is just around the corner from the world-famous Volcanoes National Park which makes it the ideal place to stay for those guests who are planning to embark on a great gorilla trek! The lodge rests in a naturally formed, and absolutely gorgeous, amphitheatre which allows it to have exclusive and expansive views of the Karisimbi, Bisoke, and Mikeno volcanoes. Guests can enjoy absolute peace and privacy at this unique, eco-friendly lodge. Bisate offers unbeatable exclusivity as it only offers six spacious forest villas for a few very special guests to enjoy.
Trek with the gorillas in your midst
Perhaps the finest accommodation in Rwanda, Bisate Lodge is in a uniquely excellent position because it is within a stone’s throw away from the Volcanoes National Park. Guests who wish to experience a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trek will appreciate the lodge’s location because the park is a two hour drive from the capital—quite a drive for an early morning trek. Although the lush green forests of Rwanda offer a challenge for adventurous guests, a gorilla trek is certainly a magical experience, and one that is not to be missed. Encounters with these majestic animals are exceptionally, and powerfully, moving. Their enormous size, their magnificent beauty, and their charming intelligence is breath-taking. Bisate Lodge is also perfectly situated for guests who wish to truly experience Rwanda—guests can visit the Iby’wacu cultural village which offers extraordinary opportunities to learn more about the Rwandan people and their culture. A definite ‘must-do’ activity is exploring the lava tunnels of the Musanze Caves, and, of course, a trip to Rwanda would be incomplete without visiting Dian Fossey’s grave.
Experience the true essence of stylish ecotourism
Bisate Lodge’s primary concerns are environmental conservation and guest’s comfort. The lodge prides itself on its 4Cs sustainability ethos—that is, ‘Commerce, Community, Culture, and Communication’. The lodge focuses on its reforestation project, community engagement, and eco-friendly operational systems so that guests can enjoy their time spent at this lodge feeling guilt-free and at one with nature. Guests are encouraged to make a change by planting at least one tree during their stay, and by interacting with the local community—both experiences bring guests closer to Rwanda. Although the lodge is eco-friendly, it has not compromised on style. The lodge’s architecture pays homage to Rwanda’s distinct building style—this is where Bisate’s extraordinary design comes from. The lodge is a thatched structure that is based on the design of the Royal Palace of the traditional monarch. Set against the lush backdrop of the Rwandan rainforest, the lodge, from a distance looks as though it has been crafted out of thatched meringues. These spherical buildings have been designed to represent the rolling hills of Rwanda. The décor inside the villas is inspired by Rwandan culture, and the villas are decorated with a plethora of woven materials.
