Definitive European hospitality in the middle of the African bushveld
“We do things a little differently here. We don’t want to be like everyone else, we are much more relaxed, and flexible. It’s about respecting your time and what you want to do with it. A little bit of European decadence in the heart of Africa,” says Kelly, Camp Manager.
With eight luxury vintage canvas suites at Chem Chem and six at Little Chem Chem, this cosy yet elegant atmosphere is the perfect haven from which to enjoy and appreciate the breathtaking African bushveld. The décor is exquisitely considered and designed to ensure a peaceful, open feel. Lie back on your over-sized bed and look out through the canvas at the endless African extending out before you. The large stone bath, outside shower, well appointed writing desk and deluxe linen ensures that you feel pampered wherever you are in your luxury suite.
Mealtimes are a wonder to behold as the talented Tanzanian chefs create world-class flavour sensations presented exquisitely and delivered impeccably by the smartly clad waiters. Whether it’s the colourful breakfast buffet, the Camembert samosas or the beef curry you are in for a treat. Dine under the stars by candlelight or by the fire and listen as the logs crackle, the nightingale sings and the hyenas call. Be still and savour the moment, capture it and take it with you.
The pinnacle of responsible tourism and conscious conservation
Thoughtfully designed to complement the lush surroundings Chem Chem is fully responsible for sustainable conservation and wildlife protection on the reserve. The owners, Fabia Bausch and Nicolas Negre’s deep passion for Tanzania’s incredible natural heritage is palpable as well as their devotion to education and social development in the area.
“Sustainable environmental protection is only possible when people are able to recognise through education, the importance of wildlife and the potential it has for their future, explains Nicolas.
