Dulini River Lodge: Abundant Luxury River Life
The multi-level guest area and shaded dining deck, canopied by a colossal Sausage Tree, offer additional game viewing platforms as a variety of animals splash and cavort nearby throughout the day. The lounge area is made up of numerous intimate relaxation havens where guests can take in the sights and sounds of an African safari experience. An enthusiastic and friendly community of local Shangaan butlers are quick to excite your thirst with a selection of local or imported beverages.
Authentic African Luxury
For something truly authentic ask for the homemade lemonade with freshly embalmed passion fruit.
Each spacious suite is designed for relaxation and comfort while embracing the luxury of private plunge pools and deep loungers on secluded verandas. Persian carpets, vogue fabrics and an eclectic collection of lavish armchairs entice guests to retire in the cool interior of their suite between game drives. A scrumptious lunch interlude on the al fresco dining deck leaves you satisfied and magnetically drawn to your oversized plump pillows or the pleasure of an in-room massage.
Guide and tracker teams
When setting out on safari at daybreak, your experienced guide will discuss with you your wildlife wish list. Your trusted tracker sits up front in, as he likes to call it ‘his office’, scanning the dusty tracks for signs of nearby animals. He signals to his partner when he anticipates their presence. Their passion for wildlife ensures an unbeatable interpretive safari experience. A special spot is chosen to savour tea, coffee and secret-recipe rusks before continuing the game drive and eventually meandering back to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. The Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve is well-known for its leopard sightings but lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo, among other species, are regularly viewed.
African Evenings
Evening game drives begin in the late afternoon and after a crepuscular sundowner, spotlights are scanned in the hope of intercepting an elusive nocturnal creature. Back at the lodge, night watchmen will escort you to the lantern-lit boma for dinner. Be watchful, as you may even catch a glimpse of a resident Large Spotted Genet in the beam of his torch!
Campfire stories
The enchanting atmosphere around the campfire whilst celebrating the day’s excitement draws guests into the heart and soul of Dulini River Lodge.
