Tree Camp

Londolozi

Tree Camp is regally positioned on the periphery of Londolozi’s collection of five luxury lodges, each studded along the lush Sand River. As the very first safari lodge to be accorded Relais and Chateaux status in the early 1990’s, it exudes an air of excellence within the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve as well as across the world.

Poised luxury

As its name infers, Tree Camp seems to be suspended in the canopy of magnificent foliage along the river with an expansive outlook over the northern plains of the Sand River. Central to the dappled deck is an ageing tree trunk that supports a robust Leopard Orchid. This extraordinary epiphyte is not only family owner, Shan Varty’s, much-loved flower, but also the shape that makes up Londolozi’s treasured emblem. It is fed once a year and if you are lucky enough to experience it in full bloom, it is believed to bring you thriving bush karma. The multi-level deck area incorporates a kaleidoscope of eclectic and classic textures and is a special viewpoint as elephants come down to drink.

Tree Camp completed a full refurbishment in March 2015 and the outcome is spectacular to say the very least. Six luxury suites embody the perfect balance between elegance and charm. A spacious entrance hall, floor-to-roof glass windows inviting in the river views and a private plunge pool are complimented by deep armchairs, a sunken bubble bath and an antique writing desk for ticking off your Londolozi bird and animals checklist
