Each trail is distinct and each one caters to different fitness levels. The riverine trails follow the natural river’s course. This trail is great for viewing plains game and it takes you to the waterholes so that you can see elephants drinking and hippos lazing about. The gorge trails take guests down into the gorges of the Waterberg Mountains which are absolutely exquisite because they can only be accessed on foot. It’s a unique escapade that not many guests get to experience. You are also given an opportunity to take a dip in the cool, crisp, natural water pools. If you are hoping for a more challenging trail, the mountain trails will be perfect for you. The trails are longer, and hikers get to climb some of the mountains in the reserve. These trails are designed to boast the rich history of the reserve—hikers are able to admire the cave paintings, Iron Age ruins, and the relics that date back to The Stone Age.
