Iconic Africa recently welcomed owner of highly acclaimed 10 Degrees South and Yebo Restaurants in Atlanta, Justin Anthony. Justin is an ex South African who hadn’t been back to our beautiful country for some time, and kindly took some time to tell us about his trip.
Where did you go?
Justin: “Johannesburg, Umhlanga, Cape Town, Sabi Sands”
Where was your favourite destination and why?
Justin: “It’s too hard to pick between them all… They were all phenomenal!”
What did you think of the country as a whole, knowing you are an ex South
African – what would you like other people to know about South Africa?
Justin: “I was blown away by the progress. It’s amazing how creative South Africa has become. I had also forgotten exactly how beautiful the country is. I think it’s important that people get to experience all aspects, from the beaches and winelands to the bush.”
What tips would you give other travelers?
Justin: “Use Terri Abadi (Iconic Africa) as your travel agent.”
As one of the owners of an acclaimed restaurant in Atlanta what did you think of the cuisine?
Justin: “The cuisine in South Africa is amazing. The seafood, especially the shellfish, and steaks are phenomenal. There is so much diversity in the cuisine. Another added bonus are the wines… Outstanding!”
What was your most memorable moment?
Justin: “The entire safari experience!”
