Recent traveller Judy Johnson and her family have just returned back to Los Angeles after the African safari of a lifetime! Judy very kindly chatted to us about her trip its highlights. Here’s what she had to say:
Judy, “I chose Iconic Africa after searching on the Internet for luxury accommodations and experienced service for my last-minute trip to South Africa. I would use Terri again and trust her advice and recommendations. For sure I would recommend her and the company. ”
We didn’t want to go home
My husband and I are very well traveled. I have been to more than 50 countries and my husband 70. We have two fickle teens – 13 and 15. The entire family loved all three of the More family properties Terri booked for us in Lion Sands and Cape Town. Accommodations were beautiful and the personalized service with our butler, drivers and trackers made all the difference. We hugged everybody upon departure and truly didn’t want to go home. But beautiful accommodations and warm service are not what we came to Africa for — it was the wildlife and rugged beauty. And we were not disappointed.
Dozens of majestic animals
Right outside our rooms we saw an elephant, African buffalo, monkeys, and lots of grazing Impala, Nyala and other types of antelopes. On safari we saw dozens of majestic elephants and giraffes, four lion sightings, 11 leopard sittings up close and personal, rhinos just a few car lengths away, hippos sunbathing, hyena foraging and a large pack of elusive African wild dogs on a hunt, among so much more. Our food was extremely fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared.
Trip Highlights
And the adorable penguins on the Cape were also a trip highlight, as was watching an ostrich fall to his knees and do a beguiling mating dance for his female target, which we captured on video. Our tour guide and day with him discovering the cape was one of my best days ever and included a beautiful lunch location and meal.
Last but not least
We all want to return to the beauty and people of Africa again someday. And a trip like this should be on everyone’s top five bucket list.”
Thank you Judy for sharing with us. We hope to have you back on African soil soon.
