Singita Castleton Camp holds a place most dear to Iconic Africa. If you scroll through the tattered original “visitors” book kept at Castleton Camp back in 1986 you will find my then 7 year old sisters entry which reads “Thanks very much, this is definitely a 5 star experience!” followed by my entry reading “Thankth very much. I liked the chocolate.” Perhaps we at Iconic Africa are slightly biased BUT what could be more perfect than spending a week with 11 of your closest family and friends in your own exclusive-use luxury villa, in the heart of the world renowned Sabi Sands Private Game reserve. Historic beginnings

Steeped in history, Castleton Camp is the original family home of Singita’s founder Luke Bailes’ grandfather built in the mid 1900’s. The newly refurbished family residence has since been converted into a stone-walled homestead characterised by it spacious patio and graceful lounge. This central homestead is adjoined by six sumptuous luxury cottages which allow you the option to retreat to the privacy of your luxury cottage or stay in the company of your friends and family.

Personalised experiences

At Singita Castleton Camp, your personal chef will cater for your specific desires and dietary requirements, your sommelier will expertly pair each meal with only the best vintage South African or International wines, your multiple butlers will ensure you never want for anything, whilst your personal ranger and Shangaan tracker will be ready for your game drives and bush walks at your leisure. If you’d prefer something more active there is also the option for some archery, mountain biking, fishing or even some tennis – no doubt followed by a well-earned dip in the swimming pool. Spectacular game viewing

Singita Castleton Camps forms part of the 66 000-hectare Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. The area is teaming with wildlife and guarantees an incredible wildlife experience. Castleton Camp itself, faces out over its own private waterhole which is a favourite for local buffalo, rhino, lion and leopard to name but a few. This waterhole allows for incredible game viewing from the comfort of your own deck, perhaps whilst sipping on your afternoon gin and tonic!
