Singita Boulders Lodge
SingitaSingita Boulders is arguably the most stunning lodge in Southern Africa. Set floating above the Sand River, among strewn gabbro boulders and inter mingled among enormous dark Ebony trees this is an African refuge whose tranquillity and beauty is difficult to fathom.
Singita Boulders: Consistently voted the worlds best
Singita Boulders lodge gets its name from the aforementioned boulders around which the lodge was crafted. This contemporary design integrates the gentle interiors with the encircling raw African beauty and open-aired spaces. Each of the ten private suites and two family suites is meticulously balanced along the Sand River and has a large glass fronted window which allows for remarkable views down into the Sand River. Interior fire place, indoor and outdoor showers, your own private plunge pool, private lounge and your expansive wooden deck ensure no comfort is left to chance.
The experience
Truly original African cuisine will meet your palate at each painstakingly prepared meal, yet it is the setting under the ancient Ebony trees and hovering deck, overhead the Sand River which will take your breath away. Nevertheless, Iconic Africa’s favourite is yet to come: the ultimate safari wine cellar in Africa! Crafted amongst the cool gabbro Boulders, the cellar brags a wide-ranging cross section of inconceivable South African and International wines – all guests MUST request a wine tasting in this distinctive African cellar.
Incredible game viewing
On the other hand, your trip to Africa doesn’t just centre on luxury experiences but more importantly the African wildlife experience. Set in the infamous 66 000 hectare Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve adjacent and open to the world renowned Kruger National Park, Singita Boulders traverses a massive piece of African wilderness famous for its wildlife density. Experienced rangers and Shangaan trackers will work tirelessly to track and find the most elusive animals including lion, leopard, rhino and potentially large herds of elephants and buffalo. It is however, the leopard viewing which has made Singita Boulders famous and if it is this mysterious animal that you are in search of then Boulders in undoubtedly your place.
Singita activities
In between game drives there are numerous activities available including bush walks, archery, mountain biking and fishing or for those craving some down time the Bush Spa is highly recommended. Boulders Lodge is also the perfect family trip. The Boulders staff will ensure a host of exciting children’s activities including footprint forging and a “trainee” Ranger’s Course in which the African bush basics and even survival techniques are taught. These supervised activities thus also give you time, as parents, for some much deserved rest and relaxation.
